Hi I’m a native Japanese guy recently moved in the US.
When I email American guys, they use American emoticons.
Some times I can’t understand whether it’s emoticons or not…
So, please tell me some popular American emoticons?
Also, these emoticons are common in Canada, UK, and Australia?

when in compose i could pick an e-card or background or emoticons. Now these drop down menues are empty. I don’t know why. Why?
i want 2 know ALL the emoticons and even the ones that only work in some special places like in facebook when your chatting with someone nd u write :putnam: a face comes up
Yesterday, they all worked fine, today – it’s a different story. Even when I hit the “I” – an image pops up when trying to send a message and I have to hit ‘backspace’ to clear it out and then I can continue. When sending an emoticon, or trying to recieve one, the image ‘usualy’ shows up – but it doesn’t move like it’s supposed to.
people send me emoticons all the time but i dont know what they mean or the purpose of them. can you clarify?
I’m looking for really complicated, funny, and cool emoticons. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks!
Also, when I try to change my photo display it seems on my end that it changes but the person that I am chatting with does not see a different photo. I have tried it with 3 different chat friends and all of them have told me that my photo doesn’t change. It just started happening last night and I have been trying to figure it out all day.
As far as i know there are 2 of them and they are the text emoticons not the picture ones, similar to Emoticons of this style (no picture or animation just text) (^_^) … i have tried searching online for hours but i can not find them.

Not looking for regular Emoticons, just the Starwars Starship ones.
