I downloaded the new version of MSN and all has been working fine. Just recently I have a problem where custom emoticons take forever to appear (just a blank space is left for the image). Also in shared photos they never transfer across leaving a blank page. Is this a know bug? Anybody else having this problem?
Oops when i mentioned MSN I mean MSN Messenger.

Emoticons are typically text-based faces and objects that help provide the reader a feel of the writer’s feelings behind the text. For example, the classic =) face shows that the writer is cheery about something or that his message is in good humor. The =P face is used to show frustration or to say “Whatever…” Emoticons can in addition be used to develop real-world objects. For example, a @–>–>— represents a long-stemmed rose, used to show admiration.

Emoticons can in addition be utilized to depict people or objects usingdefinite text characters. For example, |_P could be a cup of coffee, while (_8^ (1) might be used to represent Homer Simpson. Because it is often hard to articulate feelings when communicating by text, emoticons help communicate your real feelings. However, when you use original or uncommon emoticons, you run the risk of the other person not interpreting the emoticon and therefore incorporating more confusion to the message. For this basis, it is usually a wise choice to adhere to regularly used emoticons.

An emoticon list allows users to search for specific emoticons by typing in a key word or by browsing through a list of emoticons. The emoticon list varies as a number of symbols could represent the very same things. The variation comes from the diverse applications that use emoticons as well as the imaginative keyboard shortcuts that people conceive to communicate expressions. Wikipedia features a list of notable and customarily used emoticons or textual portrayals of a writer’s mood or facial expression in the form of icons. The list divulges two styles, the Western and the Eastern. The Western use of emoticons is a whole lot different than the Eastern use, and Internet forums, such as 2channel, exhibit expressions in their own ways. In recent times, graphic representations, both static and animated, have taken the place of traditional emoticons.

The emoticons included in the Sharpened Emoticons list range from highly popular to rather uncommon. Therefore, some will be recognized by your instant messaging program, while others will not. Sharpened.net features different lists distinct to instant messaging applications. These are composed of AOL Instant Messenger, Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger and ICQ Instant Messenger. For example the keyboard shortcut for Angel in AOL O :-) is different from the one used in Windows (a).
